  • Futurehome AS

    Situation: I was hired for leading product design and design operations, because the product team needed someone who connects the dots.

    Task: the mandate aimed to optimize design processes, enhance user experience, and establish efficient workflows across Futurehome's internal- and external flows and products. My responsibilities covered to maintain motivation and professional environment in the design team and improve communication with other stakeholders and teams.

    Action: I introduced UX methodologies and refined information architecture, applied various UX techniques, conducted user research sessions, established a robust design system, and reviewed and revised OKRs. Implemented UX methodologies, conducted user research sessions, collaborated with engineers on a design system, and reviewed operational activities to save company expenses.
    Partnered closely with product leadership on operational and organizational needs including: organizational development/change, learning and development, annual financial planning, project planning, team health, cross functional collaboration, team communications, onboarding, design review/critique process, product reviews at executive level, ambassador for the design team across the country.

    Result: improved design operations internally, user experience in the applications, and team collaboration. Enhanced user satisfaction, product performance, and notable cost savings through optimized processes (e.g. user consolidation of Figma) and a data-driven approach.

    Situation: I collaborated with engineering teams to create precise designs within the existing system.

    Task: I focused on maintaining accessibility standards (WCAG) while delivering complex features on tight deadlines. Documented projects and collaborated with technical teams.

    Action: I prioritized accessibility in designs, ensuring quick development. Documented thoroughly and introduced design reviews for bug detection.

    Result: I successfully delivered pixel-perfect designs following WCAG, aiding agile development. Enhanced collaboration and communication across teams, leading to a productive working environment.

    Working with people from 6 different timezones lead to serious burnout and I resigned.

    Situation: I led a project to establish a robust design foundation, including information architecture, design system, and documentation.

    Task: I conducted UX research, aligned design decisions with business requirements, and fostered collaboration with product management, engineering, and stakeholders. Formed a motivated design team, prioritizing well-being, organizing educational sessions, and introducing UX metrics and methodologies.

    • I was a volunteer teacher during a design summer camp organized by a group of ex-Stanford students.

    • My topics were Design thinking, User experience and user testing, Market research and benchmarking and User interface design and prototyping.

    • At the end of the intensive 2-month period, students were familiar with design processes and principles, and they were able to present their initial business idea with their very own interactive prototype.
